Bamboo is one of the fastest growing, least needy grasses on the planet.
- A fraction of the water to grow or produce
- No chemical pesticides or herbicides
- Far less inputs to harvest and process soaks up about the same amount of carbon as trees or more
You can’t
replant a forest.
The paper industry clear cuts 1,000,000 acres of North American boreal forest each year. While trees may be replanted (and re-cut) the forest is gone forever.
What’s clear cutting?
Clear cutting means taking down everything in a forest. Every tree, every plant and all habitat for countless species and other plant life. It's faster for logging. And devastating to wildlife, interdependent plants and planet, much like wildfires.
We don't need to wipe out everything just to wipe.
But don’t they plant trees back?
Yes, but the complex ecosystem that is a forest is gone forever.
A forest is biodiverse. Over time, it is populated by different species of plants, animals and other living things at all stages of growth. They depend on each other, creating a complex ecosystem our climate depends on. It can't be replicated.
Big Paper basically replants tree farms: only 1 or 2 species of the fastest growing trees all planted at once so they can get cut down again.
This is why tree-free matters.

The Non-GMO Project is a non-profit organization which began as an initiative of independent natural foods retailers in the U.S. and Canada with the stated aim to provide non-GMO labeling for products produced in compliance with their Non-GMO Project Standard.
Biobased Product
The USDA BioPreferred® Program is a voluntary initiative by the U.S. Department of Agriculture that identifies and certifies products based on their biobased content. Biobased products are derived from plants and other renewable agricultural materials, offering an alternative to conventional petroleum-derived products. The label clearly states the verified percentage of biobased ingredients, making it easy for consumers to identify and compare biobased products with confidence while highlighting a product’s role in reducing reliance on petroleum-derived materials and supporting a renewable, plant-based economy.

The MADE SAFE® (Made with Safe Ingredients) seal means that a product is made with safe ingredients™ not known or suspected to harm human health, animals or ecosystems. It’s the only nontoxic certification to apply to products we use every day. Every certified ingredient is fully vetted by scientists to ensure it’s free from toxins, carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, heavy metals, harmful solvents, and other high-risk chemicals. MADE SAFE also evaluates environmental impact, including bioaccumulation and ecosystem toxicity, and applies the precautionary principle when in doubt. This 360° approach makes MADE SAFE the most rigorous nontoxic certification for everyday products.
Standard 100
OEKO‑TEX® Standard 100 is one of the world’s most recognized independent safety certifications for textiles and related materials. A product carrying this label has been tested against a comprehensive list of more than 1,000 harmful substances, including chemicals regulated internationally and others known to pose human health risks. Every component of the item, from fibers and yarns to dyes and finishes, is evaluated against strict human‑ecological criteria to ensure it is harmless to health, particularly for products with direct skin contact.
